It has been a while since I wrote a blog so I thought I'd write about what I've been doing.  For the past month I've been studying for Zend Certified Engineer test which is a PHP test.  From what I can tell the test asks very tricky questions that require you to have a working knowledge of many PHP functions (with Arrays and Strings being the largest two).  So far I've managed to memorize most of the 74 array functions and am working on the string functions now. 

I've taken certification tests before and prepared for them, however, this is the first test I actually feel that once I've passed  I will be distinguished from others who have not taken the test. I've learned a lot and I still feel a bit nervous about taking the test although I haven't even scheduled the appointment. 

For study materials I've used:

1. Book: php|architect's Zend PHP 5 Certification Study Guide
2. Book: Zend PHP Certification Study Guide (Developer's Library)
3. Test Book: The Zend PHP Certification Practice Test Book (although I do not like these tests)
4. Practice Tests: From PHP Architect

I also had two Advanced PHP books from 2 years ago that I read select chapters from again.  Currently I'm taking the Practice Tests and studying the sections I do worse in.  I expect to make "Excellent" grades in all sections before I take the official test.

Hopefully I'll take the test very soon and I'll post the results as well!
