Learning a new code Posted by: phpforfun in Untagged  on
So Im trying to learn AJAX, but its a bit tricky when I dont know any JS, I need AJAX for my site so I can update the history dropdown menu without having to reload the entire page.

I can read code like its nothing, but writing any other code but CSS, HTML or PHP or MySQL is a bit tricky, I simply would not be able to code JS for the life of me, but I can read it like a book. I dont understand why..

My friend said he could understand spanish, but not speak it, I never understood what he meant.. now I do!

Why don't you start out with JavaScript, instead of jumping right into Ajax?
I think you'll learn faster, when you start from the ground and work your way up. In that way you'll also learn how JavaScript works when it's on its own, and later, when you begin learning Ajax, how it works together with XML.

I agree with v0id. Maybe you should start with JavaScript. Since you are mostly developing websites anyway it will benefit you in the future.
